To help prepare and encourage students in competitive speech and debate competition, I am forming a new speech and debate club on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-3:00, starting September 13th at the Morris Baptist Center.
Emphasis will be on developing speaking, reading, writing, and research skills. Due to my current reading difficulties, parents will need to assist their student in writing and proofreading speeches. Class size is limited. There will be an instructional class for parents to explain debate leagues, submission requirements, etc. The tutoring fee is $25 per month, except December (no classes). About Us
Teaching Effective Academics in Christian Homes (TEACH) is a local homeschool support group that has provided support for Douglas County private homeschoolers since 1988.
TEACH activities include a monthly newsletter, a resource center, selected junior and senior high school classes, filed trips, learning groups, academic testing, help for new homeschoolers, special events, fellowship and encouragement. TEACH's membership includes approximately 100 families.
Membership to TEACH entails subscribing to the TEACH newsletter. The newsletter is electronic only and comes out every couple of months with email updates in between. The subscription is $8/year.
