Two retired homeschooling moms are offering science classes. If you are interested, please contact the mom who is teaching that particular class directly.
Cathy Barfield is mom to three married daughters and three grandsons. Cathy has a degree in Biology. She taught for three years in South Africa and has offered some kind of science class to homeschoolers yearly since 1998.
Cathy Barfield will offer ONE the following classes based on the numbers interested in taking it:
Physical Science (designed for 8th grade)
No prerequisite but the class does introduce some simple Algebra regarding the rearranging of formulas.
Textbook is Apologia’s second edition of Exploring Creation With Physical Science. There is a one-time lab fee of $35 and a monthly class fee of $40. The class will meet weekly for 2 hours and will include lab work. We would meet in the afternoon possibly 1-3 pm. The start date, and day it will meet is to be determined. It will most likely meet in Cathy Barfield's home.
Biology (designed for 9-12th)
No math prerequisite but should be taking Algebra 1 in the same school year (only to be ready for Chemistry the following year).

Advanced Biology is full
Robin Brooks is a 'retired' home school mom who has enjoyed teaching a number of science classes over the years, including general science(6-8) and Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I have 6 children and 7 grandchildren. I started out as a Biology major in college, but ended up getting a teaching credential in Music. I especially enjoy teaching science because I find it a great way to show our children the wonderful complexities of the world that God created and how that displays the power and glory of God.
CHEMISTRY:
High school chemistry class using the Apologia Exploring Creation With
Chemistry, second edition. The class will meet weekly for 2 hours and
will include lab work. We would meet from 12:30-2:30 and the day of
the week is flexible depending on students availability. There is a
one-time lab fee of $35 and a monthly cost of $40. Class size limited to
6 students.
PHYSICS:
High school physics class using Apologia Exploring Creation With
Physics, second edition. This class will meet weekly for 2 hours and
include lab work. Times are flexible depending on students schedules.
There is a one-time lab fee of $35 and a monthly cost of $40. Class
size limited to 6 students.
